Omschrijving | Jan Wijnants, one of the important Dutch landscape painters of The Golden Age, is presented in the monograph and oeuvre-catalogue. With a biography, analysis of his style and art, his collaboration with cotemporary painters, his influence on 18th. and 19th century painters. The catalogue includes 339 authentic, 40 doubtful, 60 rejected and 80 paintings mentioned by Hofstede de Groot of which the whereabouts are unknown. Additionally more than 50 signatures and monograms of the years between 1656 and 1682 are presented as well as extensive appendices. |
